New Projects in the Works

Hi, everyone! Today, I’m sharing some new projects I am starting soon. Also, I wanted to let you know the news we found out this weekend.

New Projects Aug-Dec on Bliss at Home

(No basis for this photo, except I just felt we needed a pretty picture to go with this post…this was Sunday morning.)

This summer has been quite an interesting one for our family. At times, frustrating and stressful, but I’m happy to know some answers about our relocation now. Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes as we’ve been waiting for some clarification.

For months now, this talk of my husband’s job relocation has left us all on edge. We now have some answers, HOORAY!! My husband will start his new position here in Illinois and then after 3 months we will start the process to relocate out to New England. No later than Jan. 1 is what has been proposed.

At first, I was a little deflated about it. After hearing all the details though, this is actually a really good thing. It’s not ideal to move school age children halfway through a school year, but we just have to suck it up at this point. All and all we are pretty happy about the news!

One thing this really helps me with is knowing what kind of work I am able to do now. Not having a solid timeline for projects and client work has really been frustrating for me. Now that I know we will be in Illinois until the end of the year, it really gives me the freedom to work more now.

So, what’s next…projects, projects, projects!

I have a few things I am sharing the rest of July, but I will be starting some bigger things in August that will take us into the end of the year.

Things I can’t wait to delve into are as follows…

I took on a client project. (I am considering taking on one more this year, so if you are in the Quad-Cities area shoot me an email if you want to work together.)

I am redesigning our family room. We are going to finish our basement living space! This project is one that I am really excited about! It is down to bare bones now, so I can’t wait to show you the before and share how we are making this an amazing and useful space.

I am designing a new bathroom. I had so much fun reworking our upstairs bathroom last year and have been itching to work on another bathroom design. Thrilled to design another bathroom!

I decided to pay homage to the Midwest before we move. I grew up here and came back here after we got married, so I am starting a series to share my favorite places to travel, shop, eat, etc.

Our last fall festivities and holidays in our home. We are coming up on THE BEST time of the year, and I am cooking up some special ways to spend our last fall and holiday time here. I also will share a very special magazine feature that comes out soon and take you behind the scenes of that shoot.

There are a lot of other things I’ll be sharing the rest of the year, but those are the bigger projects I am taking on. It feels so good to have some answers on our move and know the game plan now!

Have a wonderful Monday, friends!
